This website was put together by friends of the Holy Esphigmenou Monastery, which is located at Mount Athos/Agion Oros (Greece). The main purpose of this site is to provide general information for people about the monastery, and more importantly, to bring attention to the struggle faced by the fathers at Esphigmenou.

Treasures of Mount Athos
This site was created and is maintained by the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and,  as its title implies,  contains photographs and information on the major artistic treasures of the Holy Mountain.  It is divided into 2 parts to facilitate searching.   The first part:  Exhibits per Monastery provides 21 links to art objects to be found at 17 of the monasteries as well as 2 Sketes, Karyes and Protaton.  The second part has the whole catalogue divided into 22 chapters and a search can be done according to these chapters.
